May Quarterly Meeting

This meeting includes 1 hour for association business and 1 hour of Advanced Training.

Michael Hook will be our speaker for the May 5^th quarterly meeting.  Michael has been with SC Department of Natural Resources for 18 years working in wildlife management, dealing with aquatic nuisance species, and is currently working in the small game program (past 3 years). Michael received his bachelor’s degree from Clemson in Resource Management and has a Master’s in Earth and Environmental Resource Management from USC.

 The main portion of Michael’s talk will be on the work SCDNR has been doing to study the 80 year decline in the quail/bobwhite population and what they are doing to reverse that trend through education and habitat restoration.  He’ll also talk about other species that use the same habitat that are experiencing similar population declines, along with DNR’s small game program in general and their mourning dove, ruffed grouse, rabbit, and squirrel projects.
